Kari Salema is a criminal justice-focused, licensed treatment professional. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice from Western Connecticut State University, and her Master of Social Work from the University of New Hampshire.

Kari began her career working with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in 2007; she works primarily with substance use disorder, mental health disorders, and individuals with trauma histories. She has experience providing individual and group therapy in both residential and outpatient settings, court advocacy, assessment and intake of participants, and community collaboration and referrals. Kari has worked as a treatment professional in Connecticut, Florida, and most recently in New Hampshire.

Kari joined Harbor Care’s Drug Treatment Court team in 2016 as a clinical intern. Prior to this, she worked for the New Hope Program in the Manchester probation office. Kari helped develop the evidence-based curriculum currently used within Harbor Care’s Drug Treatment Court program. She is a Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Social Worker in New Hampshire, as well as a Certified Trauma Professional.
