Dr. Graciela Silvia Sironich-Kalkanm, M.D., Medical Director

“Dr. Silvia” received her Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Buenos Aires, and has been practicing medicine since 1980. She began her career as a critical care specialist at the Navy Hospital in Argentina, where she coordinated surgical critical care. While living in Massachusetts, Dr. Silvia became certified to practice in America. She later moved to New Hampshire, where she worked in private practice in Manchester. Dr. Silvia joined Harbor Care in 2012 and in 2014 became its medical director.

Dr. Silvia puts her whole heart into her work at Harbor Care and focuses on developing programs that increase patients’ wellbeing. In 2014 she began its office-based Medication Assisted Treatment program for opioid use disorders and/or alcoholism. In the same year, she responded to rising Hepatitis C rates in the local community by assigning primary care physicians to diagnose and treat Hepatitis C. In 2015, she developed Harbor Care’s pediatric program. She worked closely with the Safe Station program from its inception in 2016 (and oversaw respite care and admitted patients who were desperately looking for a way out of opioid use disorders). In 2018 she began to shape the agency’s women’s health program, which grew to become an integral part of service at Harbor Care.

Dr. Silvia considers each patient unique, with their own strengths and challenges. She ensures a supportive and compassionate interdisciplinary team is ready to work with them to improve their lives.

After being nominated by Harbor Care staff for making a difference in the lives of the people of Greater Nashua as the opioid crisis gripped the state, Dr. Silvia was named one of 20 Outstanding Women in 2017 by WZID. She is a member of the Red Cross of Nashua and the American Cancer Society. She has served as Secretary of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs.
