Veterans FIRST Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program

Employment for All Veterans

The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP, for short) helps veterans gain the skills, materials, education and training, connections, and on-going support they need to land jobs. The program helps not only veterans, but also local employers seeking dedicated staff members.  Please call 603-459-9658 to speak with HVRP, or email us here.

How It Works

HVRP helps homeless veterans get back into the workforce, despite homelessness or other challenges. Part of Harbor Care’s Veterans FIRST programming, veterans first quickly gain housing, healthcare, and stability—the essential footing for any job search.

They then meet with an HVRP job specialist to identify their current skills, their long-term goals around employment, and a plan to get them there. This may include education, on-the-job training, and on-going supports. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond to get veterans the extra necessities—like professional clothing or tools—they need to be successful.

Our veterans have ended up working in a range of fields, such as mechanics, transportation, masonry, welding, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and more. With funding from the U.S. Department of Labor, HVRP helps veterans improve their skills, get better jobs, and keep those jobs. Visit our impact page to learn more.

Employers

In our experience, veterans are team players; they’re hardworking and loyal, and make a great addition to any enterprise. We work with hundreds of local employers in our community across industries, including construction, transportation, and health care.

The Department of Labor offers benefits to employers who hire veterans in our program, particularly those that offer on-the-job training.
