Happy 7th Anniversary to Our Pharmacy

Seven years ago, Jay Gupta, Director of Pharmacy and Integrative Health, launched our non-profit pharmacy for the patients at Harbor Care Health & Wellness Center: “Serving some of the most vulnerable clients in the Greater Nashua Area has been the highlight of my career at Harbor Care. It’s always heartening to witness people exclaim, ‘I can’t believe my medication is so inexpensive here!’”

As the only non-profit pharmacy in Nashua, the pharmacy is able to serve uninsured clients with substantially lower prices through a sliding fee scale based on income. They also take most insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. All profits are invested back into Harbor Care services.

Longtime Health Center Physician Assistant Richard Pennell said, "Our pharmacy is more than just a place to get medications; it's an extension of our healthcare team. Their commitment to precision, open communication, and patient well-being makes them an invaluable part of Harbor Care."

And Dentist Dr. Neha Gupta said, “For me, having an in-house pharmacy is a plus. It makes me feel comfortable that the patients are getting their medications timely, and if there are any prescription issues, it’s sorted out promptly. Coordination is one of the strongest strengths in providing integrated care, and our pharmacy checkmarks all the boxes.”

Graciela S. Sironich-Kalkan, the Health Center’s Medical Director said, “It’s Better service for our patients - the interactive coordination between the pharmacy and providers. And patients getting prescriptions right after the appointment helps with compliance.” And from Lead Psychiatric APRN Yara Henninger: “Communication is key. I can contact our pharmacy and receive a response back very quickly, including during a session with a patient, and patients appreciate the friendly vibe and familiarity that they have with our pharmacy staff.”
