Around-The-Clock Supportive Housing

Not everyone can live alone, and certainly not everyone can afford 24/7 supportive care. Harbor Homes and Harbor Care have several housing programs to keep people in their communities, healthy and connected, with the 24/7 support of staff.

How It Works

We have several programs in Nashua for people who cannot live alone due to significant behavioral health disorders or other disabilities. These programs may be a permanent home or a stepping stone on the way to more independent community living. Programs include:

  • Group Homes are large licensed, shared homes for clients with significant mental illness. Clients have their own bedrooms, and share kitchens, living areas, baths and other common space. Group homes are staffed 24/7 to assist clients.

  • Glencliff to Community Program: is a group home for elderly individuals with significant physical and mental illnesses who were previously residing in the state-run nursing home, Glencliff.

  • Safe Haven is a shared home for up to five individuals with significant disabilities who are experiencing homelessness, but are not yet connected with community services. Individuals work with staff to manage the symptoms of their illnesses before moving onto more independent permanent housing.

  • NH Hospital Transitional Housing Program reintegrates individuals with significant behavioral health disorders who have been living in NH Hospital back into the community.

Qualifications, Cost, & Enrollment

These programs have their own eligibility criteria. They do not typically have enrollment applications for the general public; instead, Harbor Homes and Harbor Care staff work with community organizations to fill any vacancies. If a space becomes available, it will be posted on the current openings page. Please click the button below to view our current openings.
