Southern NH HIV/AIDS Task Force
Advocacy, Support, & Education for NH Community Members
Living or at Risk of HIV/AIDS
The Southern NH HIV/AIDS Task Force is a not-for-profit AIDS Service Organization established in 1997 located in Nashua, New Hampshire. The agency serves the Greater Nashua and Southern New Hampshire regions, which includes the majority of Hillsborough County and southern Rockingham County, but focuses on serving the cities and towns of Nashua, Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Mason, Manchester, and Wilton.
The mission of the Task Force is to increase the quality and availability of knowledge, services, and resources in all matters relating to HIV infection and AIDS. The agency fulfills its mission by offering direct care services to New Hampshire community members living with HIV/AIDS and free HIV rapid testing and referral services for anyone at risk. All direct care services are offered in both English and Spanish, and are free of charge to New Hampshire community members living with HIV/AIDS and include:
- Case Management
- Mental Health Counseling
- Substance Use Disorder Counseling
- Nutrition Services and a Food Pantry
- Transportation to and from Medical Appointments
- Assistance in Securing and Maintaining Safe, Affordable Housing
- Emergency Rent and Utility Payment Assistance
- Help in Gaining and Maintaining Employment
- Linkages to Partner Notification of HIV/AIDS status and Testing
- Linkages to HIV Medical Care Providers and other AIDS Service Organizations
In addition to the direct services provided by the Task Force, clients have access to a full continuum of care through the Partnership for Successful Living member-agencies, a collaboration of six affiliated not-for-profit organizations that provide New Hampshire’s most vulnerable community members with access to affordable and supportive housing, health care, behavioral health care, education, employment, and supportive services. The Task Force is able to better coordinate and deliver a comprehensive array of interventions designed to empower HIV-positive individuals and families, and ultimately build a stronger community. Outcomes are enhanced through this Partnership model.
The Task Force is proud that most years, there are no un-sheltered, homeless individuals or families living with HIV or AIDS in Greater Nashua and that Task Force clients have overall better health and quality of life outcomes compared to their peers in New Hampshire and the Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area. These incredible results wouldn’t be possible without the support of our funders, collaborators and the community.
